"Prairie Schooner"
Prairie_Schooner_MGThis small "Prairie Schooner" was made by the K. R. Haley Glass Company in milk and crystal during the late 1940's. The mould was acquired by Kemple during the 1950's. Kemple made the jar in milk and transparent colors during the 1960's. This wagon can be easily distinguished from the larger L. E. Smith "Conestoga Wagon". It only has five ribs which support its non-sagging top, and there are no accessories hanging from the wagon bed. Lamps were also made from this jar. A hole was drilled through the bottom, and a small fixture was inserted to produce a night light. Colors that have been seen include crystal, crystal satin, amber transparent, green transparent and milk.
