Co-Operative Flint "Jumbo" Elephant
Co-op_elephant_lg"Jumbo" is a large Co-Operative Flint covered elephant container produced during the late 1920's. It is the same shape as the smaller Co-Operative Flint elephant shown in the next photo. However, this elephant measures 6" high and 13" long. Like the smaller elephant, this jar may be found with several different styles of lid. One shape is the natural back. Another shape that is seen frequently has two rows of holes for use as a flower frog. A third, rarely found style, has a raised round fitting into which a kerosene lamp fitting has been cemented. This style elephant usually has hand painted accents around the eyes, mouth and tusks.
