Czech "Kissing Doves" Powder Jar

Two kissing doves are perched on the lid of this round 4" diameter European puff box. The jar is part of a multiple item vanity set that was made in the Bohemian area of Czechoslovakia. Other pieces to this set include a tray, a pair of candlesticks and a smaller size covered jar. This box is amber transparent with satin accents. Two satin doves on the lid are sitting in a circular satin laurel wreath. Twelve raised panels that radiate from the center of the lid produce a twelve-sided outer edge. The transparent amber bottom is decorated with two satin laurel bands. One is near the top edge and the other is at the base. The base is divided into four equal sections by embossed satin trees. In each section there is a pair of satin doves perched on a branch. Measurements of this jar are 5.5" tall and 5" in diameter. This vanity set has also been found in a transparent ice blue color with satin accents and transparent pink with satin embellishments.
