"Annabella" Powder Jar
Annabella_amb_sat"Annabella" is the name which has been given to this jar. The female finial head has her hair pulled back into a chignon. Some transparent powder jars have an Art Deco design etched in gold on the lid surface. Others have been found with a wheel cut decoration. The plain round bottom is made of very heavy glass and has a deep well for the powder and puff. The jar measures 3.5" high and is 4.75" in diameter. Amber satin, transparent amber and transparent pink are the colors that have appeared. Transparent jars are more common than satin ones. In addition, a modified version of this jar exists in which the head finial has been replaced with a Deco-looking triangular knob. See the miscellaneous powder jars for custard and jadite examples of this jar.
