Jeannette "Mama Quack" Powder Jar
JFMama_Quack_iridThis duck covered box was made by the Jeannette Glass Company from 1941 through the early 1950's. It is usually seen in crystal, but will also be found in flashed-on iridescent marigold. This jar was also sampled in Shell Pink milk glass during the 1950's and a rare example may be seen in the next photo. Both crystal and iridescent ducks were sometimes decorated with hand painted eyes and bills. This large 6" long crystal duck, fondly called "Mama Quack" by collectors, often came packaged with bubble bath for ladies and shaving soap for men.
