|
Fenton Art Glass Colors and Hand Decorated Patterns 1939-1980 complements the previous book from this era--Fenton Art Glass Patterns 1939-1980. This second book in 220 pages long and includes items and categories not introduced in the first volume. A chapter on Carnival glass examines Fenton's production of this iridescent glassware during the 1970's. Other sections describe Fenton's production of items in opaque, transparent and satin glass colors. This includes, but is not limited to popular colors, such as blue satin, Burmese, chocolate, custard, Lime Sherbet, Patriot Red, Rosalene, and the Colonial colors of amber, blue green and orange. Another chapter is dedicated to Fenton's Overlay colors. Many items were made from the 1940's through the 1960's in amber, blue, green and pink cased colors. Another significant area of Fenton production was hand painted glassware. Over 25 pages of this book are devoted to describing Fenton's hand painted patterns from this era.
All the known pieces of every pattern or color are described, priced and dated. Photographs showing colors and identifying the various shapes are included.
